Limiting beliefs are the invisible barriers between you and your potential.
They’re the thoughts that whisper things like, “I’m not qualified,” “People like me don’t succeed,” or “I don’t have what it takes.” They can hold us back from trying, growing, and thriving, often without us even realising it.
The first step is to recognise them. Pay attention to that little voice in your head. When you’re about to do something outside your comfort zone, notice what thoughts come up. Are they helpful? Are they kind? If not, they could be a limiting belief.
Next, question them. Ask yourself, where did this come from? Is it actually true, or is it something you’ve picked up from a past experience or someone else’s opinion? Just because you think something doesn’t mean it’s fact.
Then comes the power of reframing. Instead of thinking, “I always mess this up,” try, “I’m learning, and every attempt gets me closer.” It’s not about blind positivity, it’s about choosing a perspective that supports you.
Finally, take action, even if it’s a small one. Action creates evidence to challenge the belief. For instance, if you believe you’re not confident enough to do live video, record a quick video just for yourself. Each step chips away at the old belief and builds a new one.
Limiting beliefs are stubborn, but they’re not permanent. With awareness, intention, and courage, you can rewrite your inner script and unlock the version of you that’s been waiting to shine.
