What is Brand Storytelling

Marketing has changed. At a time when audiences are better informed and crave authenticity and connection, the only way to build meaningful relationships with customers is through story. But many brands leave the real heart, soul and magic, their stories, untold.

A brand story is the narrative constructed around your brand, deliberately designed to connect directly with your niche. An original and purposeful brand story helps you capture (and keep) your target audience’s attention, even in a busy and competitive market.

I call brand storytelling the ‘backbone’ of your brand, because it covers all the key aspects of your business and is realised across your customer touchpoints.

We are genetically wired to love and respond to stories and a memorable brand story is exactly what people need to feel connected to your business, have a lasting positive impression of who you are and what you stand for, and become loyal.

What is the message you want to transmit to your audience, and what do you never want them to forget? Consider the emotion you want to evoke in your audience every time they interact with your brand.

Your audience may forget what you say, but they will not forget how you made them feel.
