Core WordPress Features

WordPress is a simple way to create your own website or blog. Since it was released in 2003, it has become one of the most popular web publishing platforms.

WordPress enables you to build and manage your own full-featured website using just your web browser without having to learn how to code. If you use a text editor like Microsoft Word, you’ll be right at home with the WordPress Editor. There are many features to this publishing software but here are some that should be utilised more.

☞ POST SCHEDULE – Choose to go live on the day and time you want to using the built in WP scheduler upper right side of the post editor page.

❖ SCREEN OPTIONS – One of the most undervalued parts. Customise the display of any page. In the top-right of many WordPress screens, you’ll see a Screen Options button. Click this to open a drop-down menu that unlocks all the hidden features the screen has to offer.

✯ REVISION HISTORY – WordPress comes with a built-in feature that allows you to undo changes and go back to a previous version of a post. Post revisions allow you to see your process and take a bird’s eye view of how your post has evolved.

✦ KEYBOARD SHORTCUTS – shortcuts that can greatly enhance your WordPress productivity and efficiency. Whether you manage or create content for just one WordPress site or dozens, time is a precious commodity. The faster you can work, the more you can accomplish and stay competitive. ALT+Shift +M opens the Add Media for instance. Alt + Shift + T inserts a more tag.

Our website is built on WordPress and love the flexibility of it and the option of so many plugins to support it.
