How many times have you thought, if only I had more time?

There’s no way to increase the number of hours in your day, we’re stuck at 24. But you can change how you manage and use that time. This is the key to becoming more productive in the workplace.

  1. Create a morning routine.
  2. You’re more productive when you take breaks.
  3. Tackle your hardest to-do first thing in the morning.
  4. Find Productivity methodology that works for you.
  5. Put it all down on paper.
  6. Focus on why you’re doing something.
  7. Set your desk up correctly and maintain good posture.
  8. Don’t be consumed by social media.
  9. Set healthy boundaries with your household.

Just as you should start your day with a routine, create a habit that signals the close of the workday. It might be a sign-off on a business messaging app, an evening dog walk, or an at-home yoga class. Something as simple as shutting down your computer and turning on a favourite podcast will do.

Whatever you choose, do it consistently to mark the end of working hours. Above all else, figure out what works best for you. Sometimes the answer is apparent, but other times you might need some inspiration from other remote workers who are in the same boat.
